The headquarters of the company is situated in Baku. The airline was founded on 7 April 1992 as the first national airline of independent Azerbaijan. The base is Heydar Aliyev International Airport situated within 20 km south of Baku. The company operates flights to Europe, CIS, Middle East and Asia.

Azal is not care about his clients. No support after buying the tickets. Neither call center, nor support number (+994 (12) 598 88 80) . If I was not having relatives who lives in Azerbaijan I could never rebook my tickets. We came until the airport and we did it. Its a shame for Azal. They responded by e-mail that you can cancel your tickets with penality 75% and refund of 25% in 33 days. But we did not wanted to cancel, we wanted to rebook, and it was our right that is written on the official site of Azal. Their site is only good for selling the tickets,not providing help.
